The highlight of my day.Kevin Davis wrote:I am Stip.

I would not like it here or there
I would not like it anywhere
I do not like the song abbreviated MYM
I do not like it, Stip I am.
"Would you like it at a show?
Where you can feel that sweet Jamily energy flow?"
I would not like it at a show
If I knew they would play it, I would not go!
I do not like the song abbreviated MYM
I do not like it, Stip I am.
"Would you like it if it was differently mixed?"
I would not like it if it was differently mixed
Some mistakes just can't be fixed!
I would not like it at a show
It's still the same damned song, you know!
I do not like the song abbreviated MYM
I do not like it, Stip I am.
"Do you think it could be saved
By a different drummer, like Jack or Dave?"
Jack couldn't save this song, no way
Neither could EITHER Dave -- A *or* K!
I would not like it at a show
I hate it -- live OR studio!
I would not like it here or there
I would not like it anywhere
I do not like the song abbreviated MYM
I do not like it, Stip I am!
"Would you, could you like it more
Than a one-off song from a movie score?
Would you, could you throw it a bone
Over a mopey B-side, written by Stone?"
I would not, could not choose this racket
Over ANY song in this tournament bracket!
I do not like the song abbreviated MYM
I do not like it, Stip I am!!
"Try it, try it again, KD!
Try it, try it, and you will see
Listen, one more time, KD
You will hear it differently."
Stip, if you will let me be
I will listen again, and perhaps will see...

Forget the match here, Kevin Davis wins post of the year, hands down.
"MYM" is fine. A middling Pearl Jam song in the grand scheme of things, and a lead single from a time when I felt maybe this band should hang it up. "MotH" is lovely; a touching eulogy to a figure that has always hung over Ed's music (it's not directly about his father, but it's in that vein). Today, though, "Fatal" is edging it out by just a bit. There's really something to the austere arrangement and somehow mystifying atmosphere.

Man of the Hour or Fatal.
This a tough couple of matchups!
Fatal only because that still comes across perfectly live where Man of the hour has lost some of its subtle beauty.
I dont know. Could really go either way. Both incredibly lovely and emotional tracks.

I really like MotH and Fatal both. Voted for MotH due to some personal associations with it, but won't begrudge Fatal taking it.

Fatal and Man of the Hour have an average of 58 votes per tournament, Mind Your Manners got a strong start but has tailed off in recent years with an average of 66.

Re: 12. Man of the Hour vs. Fatal vs Mind Your Manners
There was a time when I'd have put "Man of the Hour" in my top 2-3 PJ songs. It's certainly fallen from that pedestal but I still think it's great.
I do wish "Fatal" was a bit longer. I love that verse melody, and I feel like it's over so quickly...
