Of course he has issues but it seems Amber fabricated a lot of what the media sold to the public this recent years.

The bad publicity got him for sure.
i want to make sure i'm understanding what you're saying, so please correct me if i'm not.

it sounds like you're saying he's being a decent human on the set of his movies. he does get paid for that, so like any functioning adult who wants to stay employed, that makes sense to do.

on the other hand, are you saying being a drunk, and what appears to be a destructive one at that...at home...is fine because he's just being a drunk guy in the privacy of his home? in the privacy of his home, which is none of my business he's exhibiting abusive behavior. even if he's not laid hands on her, slamming open cabinets and breaking things, and stomping around is abusive and controlling behavior. is he acting there? is that part fabricated?

again, please help me ensure i'm following.

I'm watching long videos of the trial where he's just talking about how he became a movie star and how he created his Pirates of the Caribbean character and stuff like that. How is this even relevant?

I find it mildly annoying that he still tries to look like Jack sparrow in real life

it all helps people warm to him and hence his portrayal of himself as an innocent victim

Yeah but then shouldn’t the defendant object because of irrelevance or something

maybe yes, I guess this is being excused because he's Johnny Depp

it sounds to me like he's an incredibly verbally abusive man who takes his rage out on things around him physically; so I would think he's abusive even if he'd never laid a finger on Heard; my personal feeling (it's not a stance, I am divided) is that Amber would have found his abuse hard to prove, so she went to some drastic and desperate, violent measures to do so; and because it sounds like she *did* get physically violent, he's being treated as a heroic innocent for enduring her

this is why it's important that we recognise and treat all kinds of violences, not just ones involving fists

Yeah, it sounds to me they were both wrong. An extremely toxic relationship. Go your separate ways and work on getting healthier. Case dismissed.

I find it hard to see it any other way; maybe there was someone who "started it", and I think Depp is an expert at wriggling out of responsibility for instigating things (I've heard some testimonies by now and both are gaslighting at times but Depp is better at it), but what I know for sure is their marriage was a powder keg waiting to explode; they probably masked for each other until they snapped and couldn't anymore

Yeah, he's a good actor but I do not trust for a second he's as innocent as he's putting on. And I think it's kinda f'd up he's willing to go to these lengths to clear his reputation when there's clear evidence of his asshole, drug-induced behavior.

The only thing I enjoyed Johhny Depp in without getting annoyed by something about him was Rango.

His performance as Willy Wonka really lowered his stock for me

but he's had plenty of good to great roles
