We pay a college kid next door $25/hr for all sorts of odd jobs: Mowing, hedge trimming, snow shoveling. Yes it's all stuff I can easily do but the time savings is so worth it.
i need one of those! we pay a girl to walk the dog once in a while but i don't know if she'd be up to mowing

I used to have people cut our grass. But they would ride one of those riding lawnmowers that you stand on, and they would cut the grass no matter if it was raining or if it was dry. They killed my lawn with tire marks and ruts when the lawn was wet. I do it myself now. But we still use a service at the lake because we’re not up there every week.

When are you watering it?
Try watering it in the early morning for longer but only every other day.

sprinklers are set to go off around 5 am. and we've tried for longer. it's really a combination of all this heat, and the fact that our yard is atop of red dirt. i think at the outset, if we'd have had real dirt laid down before the sod it would stand a better chance. too expensive.

I like to mow. It's exercise with a podcast and the smell of freshly cut grass.

very bumpy, some hills, kinda big , pushmower
it was a new home when we bought it a few years ago, and it was all dirt... they did plant/ level the yard before we moved in but they did a pretty shitty job.. and all the rain has made it even more bumpy over the last few years
