Forrest Gump is fine. Mickey's on one again.

Forrest Gump is pablum made for the La-Z-Boy population. Terribly dull, insipid movie--definitely doesn't belong on this list.

I only like INTELLIGENT movies due to my superior INTELLECT.

According to IMDB he is listed as an actor is 66 feature films. If I sort with a minimum ranking of 5/10 and at least 1000 votes, there are 60 left. There are 20 of those I haven't seen, even if I own five of them, meaning they will be seen in the future. Saving Mr. Banks, Sully and A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood are the only three of those twenty with a ranking above 7.

So we are now looking at a top 4 out of the 40 movies that are left.

Forrest Gump is one of my all time favorite movies, and a fantastic performance from Tom Hanks.

From my childhood there are some movies that really stand out. My two older brothers (5 and 9 years older than me) used to rent three movies every weekend in the mid to late 80s, and later we got various movie channels, and still rented movies.

The Fly was the first movie that gave me nightmares, from just peaking at it from the corner of the room as a child, and yet I loved it, when I watched it again two-three years later. Better Off Dead was another one, that I kept rewatching. Big Trouble In Little China was a classic in our house.

With Tom Hanks it was Big. For me as a child, that movie delivered far beyond what I think it can do for any adult RM member watching it for the first time in 2022. It's still a good movie, but back then it lived in my brain for the next year. I talked about it to everyone at school, I dreamt about it happening to me, and I couldn't wait to see it again. Well written movie, but Hanks can take a lot of credit for his performance in it.

Mickey's too haute to lower himself to the ForestGump experience.

Joe Versus the Volcano is a fantastic movie. No joke, it's one of Hanks' best.

I figured that was an overreach. I've never seen it.

Turner and Hooch was fun enough, but I know Hanks hated it.

Thought you would say something like that.

My wife and I have no problems disagreeing about movies, and do so a fair amount of time. She actually loves Forrest Gump as much as I do, and has done so since she first saw it many years before we met. Think it’s one of a few movies we both truly love.

Good for you guys.
