I wonder how this person got the studio version of this. Does this mean the rest of the album is out there?

Yes, you're right. I posted my message before finishing the song...but by the end, I realized it was taken from there.

Cool. I just got a bit excited we had a studio track, 'tis all.

One observation about KOL -- which I was beginning to make over the last three albums but is much more obvious by now -- is their tendency to take songs which would typically be played with a certain rhythm, and put that rhythm a half-step down. So for example, a song like 'Family Tree' is reminiscent of the first two albums' bluesy 'hoedown' except that it's played in 4/4 rather than a fast 2/4. In some songs this halfing the rhythm is more effective than others, and I'm trying to decide how much it bothers me in general. But I could pick out several songs since Because of the Times where it happens. It might be because the drummer is trying to lift the song from its traditional roots and make it more contemporary, in which case at least I admire the effort. I guess, in the case of 'Beautiful War', the timing is halved because otherwise it would be too similar to Pyro.

I thought it was a stream, it's a track-by-track review, but still interesting.
