While UK unit Split Chain have been racking up millions of streams over the past year through a series of bleak-grooved, self-released singles, the rising act have now officially teamed-up with veteran punk label Epitaph Records for their next release. Better yet, the self-described “nu-gaze” group’s “(Re)-Extract” is a dark-spiraling revamp of an early hit, though it now also features grungy Canadian duo Softcult.
A press release explains that the new single is in fact a slightly reworked version of their 2023 song “Extract,” and accordingly shoves into a similar series of wavy, detuned guitar melodies and breathy, Deftones-ish vocals. Those sighs and screams on the addiction-themed piece are now complemented by extra melodies from Softcult members Phoenix and Mercedes Ann-Horn. You can see all parties bound along to the tune in the music video up above.

Welp, I'm jealous.

Well, its a helluva way to spend Valentines day, loud and grungy.
Sadly they only had 40mins on stage as they were the opener for Lights but still a great show.
