As a kid (pre 7) I never did, then I fractured my skull one day riding my bike, so from that day on my parents made sure I always had a helmet.

As a kid I did, but no longer. If it's good enough for the Netherlands, then it's good enough for me.

Plus, if I suffer a catastrophic brain injury I will 100% deserve it. Who crashes their bike? Idiots, that's who. Always ride defensively, as though everyone around you is a complete moron (they are).

i know a guy who doesn't wear his seatbelt in his truck because he thinks he's rebelling against the government. his kids copy them now, and one of them was throw across their car in a fender bender. absolutely insane that some people are allowed to procreate.

So I understand, anyway. I haven't been on a bike since I was about 10.

Not only does it keep you from flying out of the windshield in an accident, it keeps you in your seat if you have to make an emergency maneuver. Apparently people have had to jerk the wheel to avoid an accident, but then they get thrown out of their seat or off the pedals and end up wrecking anyhow because they don't have control of their car.

I went for a bike ride today and saw 4 other people riding bikes. None of them were wearing helmets. What's up with that?

I didnt used one no. Like ever. I dont ride these days, mainly because i live in the city, and because i gave away my old bike.

Maybe if i had a bike now i would have a helmet? who knows, maybe yes. Not sure.

I still wear a helmet and have almost gotten clocked by cars twice in the last year and plan to continue to wear a helmet in case i finally get clocked

if i ever stop posting here just know it's prob bc some old person who shouldnt be driving ran me over or some drunk / stupid person on their phone ran me over
