The light in my office has been out for over a year, and the ceiling is too high for me to change it, but yesterday the light began working again for no reason that I can decipher. I'm nearly convinced that someone broke into my apartment, changed the light bulb, then left.

Choosing to live for over a year with no functional light bulb instead of finding a way to replace the bulb is an interesting choice

I normally use a few desk/floor lamps, but these days I'll take all the light I can get.

But that doesn't explain why I'm down to 2 lights out of 7 in the kitchen.

Even if you don’t have a ladder tall enough, they make extendable poles with attachments on the end to change high bulbs. Used to have one in our old house.
