Re: Song of the Moment: World Wide Suicide
wws has held up pretty good, i feel. overplayed to death on the tour, which probably soured me on it for awhile given how many shows i listened to, but these days when i hear it i get into it. for me i'd rate it one of their best post-riot act, and sits comfortably in the top quarter or so of their songs. i definitely think it was the right choice to lead with as a single.
ah, copperplate, a font for the truly modern man.

Way the fuck better than anything in the new album, but not that great. Still relevant though.
This and Life Wasted are the only songs after Riot Act I even like.

I find this song extremely grating. I hate the siren guitar part and this is one of Ed's worst vocal performances. 0 stars. This song (and album) went a long way towards killing my pearl jam Fandom.

This band has presented so much guff down the years because somebody was too cool for school. On reflection, his decisions worked out, but this song is total shite.

I used to feel very much the same, but I've been coming around on this song and the Avocado album as a whole in the last few months.JuanHamm wrote:I find this song extremely grating. Their worst lead single in my opinion. The guitar work is way too busy and crowed. Eddie didn't need to play on this one.
The production is really bad and just gives me a headache. I do like the "Looking in the eyes of the fallen..." part though.
