To train under Rangi at his dojo?
isn't Rangi a New Zealander?
he's got you there, john...
Then why does Dev want to move to Australia?

I'd rather ship the children off and relax at home

I just want to live by the ocean. And the pacific is so cold so I started thinking where the water might be warmer.

If you moved to Aus the chances are you would still be swimming in the Pacific.

But yeah, there are certainly many more options available. I personally recommend the Indian.

Why move to Australia when New Zealand is right there?

Going to San Francisco in June for work - i can’t get a good feel for whether I’ll need a car or just be able to get by on cabs and public transport. All my work stuff is downtown but I’ll want to hit up the main tourist spots too - I’m thinking that I’ll probably get a car so I can go out to the redwoods and up the coast a bit, but open to suggestions otherwise.

Uber/Lyft is plentiful.
Public is ok — a mix of busses and steer cars and pedi cabs.

The bigger issue is the homeless crisis, which is insane. I’d personally skip the rental so you’re not stressing out every time you leave the car. If you’re downtown, you’ll do ok with with busses and pedi cabs I’d think?
Meh, I’ll pay for the insurance and never leave anything more valuable than a stick of gum in the car so the bums can do whatever they want to it. But parking is a bigger concern, work will pay for it but I’d still rather avoid needlessly spending like 60 bucks a day to have the car sit in the hotel garage. Hmm.

I’m going to the Mariners game today. Every time, a (small? medium?) part of me wonders if my car will be intact after the game.

Hate parking in the stadium lot cuz it takes forever to get out plus it’s like $40.

How much would it be for the guy from big trouble in little China to drive me around in that bus?

Rent a car for only part of the trip, so you can drive across the GG bridge and check our Muir Woods and the coast.
