What could they have done from the studio exactly? They cut the segment to deescalate and give the reporter and crew an opportunity to find safety if needed.

Though they did have the good sense to escape to America, which backs my theory that all the great freedom-understanding men in UK and Ireland braved the Atlantic (or died in the war), leaving those cursed isles to insane and degenerate dime-like remnants.
