If I rated it objectively I'd probably give it a 3 or 4, but since I grade PJ on a curve and this is my favorite new song form them since… possibly RA, I'm giving it 5. I enjoy the hell outta this one, above and beyond anything else we've heard from this album so far. I wish it was the first single.

I gave it a 3, could go to a 4 but Im playing it safe for now, I love the end and I love the making love like the lizards line and how everything except the drums/badd drops out, I think there's an echo on eds voice aswell that's kinda cool. I'll have to listen to it again before talking about it more, for some reason I like this one the best but find it easier remembering/talking about the ones I dislike.

Something about this sounds really mid-2000s to me. And not really in a good way, though I don't know what a good way would be.

The verse melody to this reminds me of the verse melody to Aerosmith's "Falling in Love is Hard on the Knees."

The chorus reminds me of a song by Live that I can't put my finger on.

The more I listen to this one the more I hear the fixer, but sexed up, which I like

the fixer after he's grown up and gotten all his optimism beaten out of him and he's a bit bitter but realising fuck it I can do it myself for myself rather than hoping for god or even for me to fix it.

This'll be a late PJ favourite for me, along with SW.

are you using itunes? If so try changing the band name in the file to match the pearl jam mlb thing it uploads.

Or make a playlist, which is what i did

I'm not using iTunes, just in a Windows files window. Maybe that's the problem, I can't muck around with sequencing. Will try it in iTunes.

If you rename the songs like this:

01 - Getaway
02 - Mind Your Manners
etc

it should put them in the order you want in WMP.

However I would recommend you switch to VLC Player.

Just re number them.

Cheers. I've done a playlist in iTunes. Actually I had it, I just hadn't put all my songs in it. Now I have.

It crossed my mind that the outtro of Getaway is something they would do on Vs

Getaway is my favorite so far. This could have easily been on Vitalogy. Ed sounds wonderful. Jeff and Matt are holding shit down. Mike and Stone are being their usual two-headed, four-armed monster. I like the way the guitar starts out with the chugga-chugga-chugga sound and then the other guitar comes in and doubles it.

The only thing I don't like about it is when it goes from "i got my own way to believe" to "find a lighthouse". The words are too crowded in the space of the song. Other than that, 6 out of 5 for me.
