That could happen if Martial Law were to go into effect in the US. While that seems unlikely, Ukraine has been under Martial Law for about 3 years now meaning their citizens were denied their right to vote on who should lead their country when the 2022 elections got scrapped.
I don’t think Martial Law has ever prevented a presidential election from taking place in the United States but that doesn’t mean it never will.
