I don't understand how Japan went from being 7 hours ahead of CET on August 6th (I assume your reference to it being August 5th in Europe for the Hiroshima bombing is a typo), to 8 hours ahead on August 9th with the bombing of Nagasaki, and then back to 7 hours ahead on September 2nd with the signing of the surrender. Make sense of this for me Anders.

August 6th and seven hours is correct. I didn’t write those times myself, but have edited them now.

Thought about how there will be less WW2 anniversaries going forward, and with fewer living veterans. However, going back 90 and 100 years, even now, there are events that shaped the war to come.

I think 85th and 95th anniversaries are not usually celebrated in a major way for historical events. The 90th will be like the 80th has been, and the 100th will be a major event, like the ai predicted as well. But for the war itself, that won’t start until 2039.

I have probably posted this already, but I’ve been following the 80th anniversary of WW2 for years now. For the 75th anniversary of the end (five years ago now), I watched a large selection of WW2 movies.
