That's a damn fine list. Bigger Than Life was one of the last eliminations from my own list. I like your inclusion of California Split, too. I really love the play between those two characters. It might be my favorite Altman movie. I don't hear about it much, compared to his other movies.
Point Blank was this close to being on my list.
Honest truth, Point Break was nearly on my list, and I got a little excited when I misread your post. "If you want the ultimate thrill you have to be willing to pay the ultimate price."

I use http://www.icheckmovies.com to keep track of what I've seen, what I liked, and sometimes to find what I want to see next.

I'm going to take entirely too long to do this. How do you guys compile a list without feeling it could be better 5 minutes later?

I dunno what I'd say for 25, there's too many that I've either gotten over or just don't really love enough. This is as good as my list gets:

1. Blues Brothers
2. Fellowship of the Ring
3. Inglorious Basterds
4. Monty Python's Meaning of Life
5. Shawshank Redemption

Plenty of kid's movie classics would be up there too like Lion King, Wizard of Oz and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
