they have succeeded in finding a very satisfying niche since; it's great stuff. the rat is a complete face melter though.

I still think that their last album is their best in terms of mood.

It's doesn't have the typical Walkmen sound, but "Heaven" is one of the best songs they've ever done. Killer lyrics too.

my rank would be:

bows and arrows
heaven
lisbon
you & me
everyone who pretended to like me is gone
a hundred miles off
pussy cats

although, the difference between b&a and you & me is minimal
Sometimes I wanna drive around and find you
And act like it's a random thing

And act like it's a random thing

Saw these guys 1 or 2 years ago. Good show, several strong & varied records, immaculately dressed.

I'm pretty sure I bought Everyone Who Pretended to Like Me when it came out just because I saw the cover art in a review and thought it looked cool.

I wish I could still throw money around on music like that. What a great record that was.

in no way was i intending to slight their recent output, pal. i really enjoyed heaven initially, but find myself only returning to certain songs. but if want an uninterrupted the walkmen listening experience i turn to one of their first four or five albums.

Does anybody here rep for Pussy Cats? It's the only thing in the catalogue I never tried on.

It was hard to admit that. I'll go drink to temporarily cover up the shame. Nilsson would be proud.

"Members of The Walkmen do, however, plan to continue making music solo. Frontman Hamilton Leithauser is recording a solo LP with help from members of The Shins, Fleet Foxes, and Vampire Weekend, while Bauer and multi-instrumentalist Walter Martin are also going at it solo."

I'm guessing the former aforementioned solo record will do a tad bit better than the latter.
