My two four year old girls love LB. They dance around to LB the way I wish more fans at shows would get down to it.

So is that what's going on here?
Shit! I didn't even see your post I just pulled the number 4 out of thin air. I wasn't talking about you specifically or anything, its just that 'its a fun time for all the family' is really low on the list of what I want a pearl jam album to be.
I'll back up outta the thread, I've got no kids and my parents dont know what a pearl jam is.
NO prob. I just find the whole thing funny. LB is the first PJ album where my kids were old enough to a) be aware of my PJ fanhood and b) have their own opinions about the music I play in the house. But considering that they pretty much like anything I play in the house, they're not the hardest audience to win over. They pretty much think Pearl Jam must be awesome through their own association with how cool their Dad is.

You've got yourself a wise kid. This album was a favorite back in the day...
It didn't take 25 listens for that one to the hit the spot, I can promise you that.

Also, this was the sickest fucking jam back in the day, and it still holds up pretty well today.

Great thread.
It's funny because I tried to get my parents into Pearl Jam, particularly my Dad, for years. During backspacer he came up to me with no prompt and said, "that new Pearl Jam song (Just Breathe) is absolutely amazing. Do you have it? Can I get a copy of that song and more like it?" It was a very odd experience for me. Also, trying to put together a CD with Just Breathe-like songs is actually kinda challenging. He wasn't huge into the mix, but still loves Just Breathe.
On the kid front, my son and daughter jam to LB. They love the fast stuff. I think Lightning Bolt (the song) really gets them. They also really like Sirens (which my daughter likes to sing). It's cool how they just immediately liked the album.

My nephew thought they sounded like an uninspired pair of sweatpants.

RM-counter response...
"That first dog is just a hipster who hates everything. Best record since Vitalogy. On the 72nd listen it all makes sense."

If we can be serious here for a second: I can't get my dog to like any of my music. He's the most hipster snob ever. what can i do?
