Don't listen to anything anyone anywhere tells you. That's the best Pearl Jam advice there is.

Unless of course that anyone is me telling you to listen to 'Live on 2 Legs', which you definitely should.

welcome to the board and welcome to the band :) The just go in chronological order advice is good. Each album in some way responds to or grows from the one before it, so in the end it feels like a pretty organic journey. And don't rush. You only get to go through the catalog for the first time once. Take your time. You've got a few years to catch up.

I was late the PJ party as well. In the 90's I was listening to the backstreet boys...god help me. I have since seen the error of my ways and I have repented! I've been a proud Pearl Jam fan since June. If you can take your time as you go through the albums then you are stronger than I am...

Keep chud away from him, or he'll enjoy Riot Act or something stupid like that.

Just so you know, the original Pearl Jam have split in 2005. There is a newer band with a similar name who have released their self-titled debut in 2006 and two more albums since. Stay away from them at all cost.

Listen to "I See Red" feat. Eddie Vedder and Betchadupa. Pretend it is full band Pearl Jam.

/thread.

You have no idea how refreshing it is to me to have "new blood" on a PJ forum. Please don't become jaded, you are exactly what the world needs. (Well, that might be an overexagheration, we're just talking about music here). Thank you for keeping your eyes and ears open to this music, and welcome!

Nope. But you're better off posting on a real forum like this one. :D

Yep, because everyone here HATES that a forum run by the band doesn't let posters go on long, nitpicky rants about things they hate about the band, speculation on band members' personal lives, etc.

Go figure huh?

Don't worry about what other people think about your favorite songs. They are your favorites for whatever personal or emotional reason.
That's cool.

Also, listen to Binaural with headphones.
