Which band has Matt actually been actively with for longer.


Pearl Jam is 15 years at this point. And 5 albums.

Soundgarden is 4 albums plus whatever they did before badmotorfinger (are those full length records?). I'm not sure about the years.

SG with Matt is 1986 (I believe) - 1997 + 2010 - present

so it's basically tied re: number of years.

No, I seriously don't know them. I heard a few of the songs from them on the GH and had no desire to seek them out. That wasn't a hostile comment. I thought at least one was an EP.

Superunknown is really the only soundgarden record I like a lot from start to finish. Other than that they've always been a band that produced a number of songs I loved and a whole bunch of stuff I just didn't give a shit about. Alice in Chains (who I liked more) was the same way. This was different than Pearl Jam, Nirvana, or the Trees where I was usually interested in listening to everything.

He would be on crack to pick Soundgarden over Pearl Jam at this point.

I know it wasn't hostile. I was just amused. There's 2 LPs and 2 EPs. Before you completely write off pre-BMF SG, check out Incessant Mace off Ultramega OK.

This news doesn't surprise me at all. Pearl Jam is his main gig, by far. Soundgarden is his side project.

Chris, Ben, Kim and I are in the process of finding the perfect substitute for the upcoming Soundgarden dates in 2014.

I'd prefer they went with someone young and new. If they're going to use a known drummer I'd nominate the guy from Tool.

I would say his value is equal in both bands. We are witnessing one of the best drummers of all time, yes its happening.
