looks like it's 'up,' at least according to azlyrics.com, which is for sure definitive.

goddammit! i always like the lyrics i make up better than the actual ones. this is like when i found out it was "since i fell apart" in footsteps instead of "since i've been born." my misheard lyrics always have so much more pathos.
