So I guess I'm going to the 2013 All-Star game. I guess I'm pretty excited to see it at Citifield since I'm a Mets fan and my family has had some form of season tix package since the mid-80's. Anyone ever been to this? Is it worth going to all 3 days of it?

I went in 98 when it was in Denver. As I recall it was just two days then? I went to the actual game, not the day before (home run contest, etc). They also do a pretty good job with the whole "fan experience" thing they'll set up. In many cities they do that in the convention center--not sure how they'll do it with the Mets.
But i thought it was a very cool experience. Then again, you didn't have as many guys skipping the game back then.

I went to the ASG in 99, it was really cool, I'd recommend it to anyone.

I did the home run derby at Miller Park... which was right in the height of the Steroid boys era... we had upper deck seats right by the foul pole so were eye level with the balls as they arc'd off... that was pretty cool to see
Bonds hit a ball in batting practice, a freaking line drive rocket, that hit the top right corner of the old replay board which was basically another 20 feet higher than the score board now)
that had to easily have gone 600 feet if there was no scoreboard to stop it, ive never seen a ball hit like that before, steroids or not, that was CRUSHED!
I think the coolest one to go to might be the Futures game, see a bunch of unknowns who might be stars one day, but I only had the funds to do the HR derby back then

I kinda think Edgar Martinez should be in there. Not first ballot, but he was one hell of a DH.

Playing only 1/2 the game, he needs to be much better than "one hell of a DH."
