Raided my folks basement prior to leaving this holiday season. Scored some classics such as "look what the cat dragged in", some madonna, some kris kristoferson, the River, some sam cooke and other various compilations. Hilarious

ALso picked up the Lumineers, El Camino, Let It Be and Tallest Man on Earth.

Not as cool looking as a vintage marantz but int he end its about quality and so far i am pleased....great deal on it too!

There is a marantz at my parents house that may just need a few touch ups so next time im back there ill grab it.

Chud, if you noticed, the dude had two different marantz receivers in the add. a 2270 and 2230. One of which power button wont turn off. He also had a similar ad up for Denver. And he said he was not feeling well today so i couldnt come pick it up.

When I bought my first (and current) turntable, I got it off a guy on Craigslist. He gave me an address that was somewhere deep in Quincy, and while my girlfriend and I were driving there we were having trouble finding the place, so we called the guy and he said, "Just drive around the rotary...I'll find you." The next time we came around the rotary, he was running out into the road. We followed him into his basement through a bulkhead, and when we got to the bottom (all the lights were out) he said, "Hold on, we gotta close the exterior door in order to open another one." This is when my girlfriend whispered into my ear, "This is where we die." However, it turned out the guy was pretty cool and he even gave me an extra turntable belt for nothing.

tl;dr version: Always do deals with shady people on Craigslist; nothing bad could happen!

It's hard to describe. It's down near North Weymouth on one of those peninsulas out in Quincy Bay. Yardarm Lane was the street.

That's less than a cigarette away from my house by car. I live on the same peninsula, but that's the Germantown side, which is the projects. Not surprised at all that it was a creepy experience.

And it's only close to North Weymouth as the crow flies. You'd have to come inland a bit and then cut south to actually get to North Weymouth.

Actually to get technical, Germantown is a tiny peninsula off the main peninsula that actually goes into Quincy Bay

Also not surprised you couldn't find it. I delivered pizza for a bit in high school and none of the shit there is marked.

Denon is good stuff, bro. Denon and Marantz are actually the same company now.
