I just read something that said all 14 non-playoff teams will have a shot at the 1st overall pick. I like that as a rule, and it suggests there will still be 16 playoff teams. I don't think they've released any official CBA details yet, though... have they?

We won't have a shortened season, we'll just go ahead and have an extended playoff format this year.

I hope no one is planning to spend a dime on NHL tickets or merch this year.
I'll watch on TV, but won't spend anything.

I'm not lined up at the gate, but if I could get playoff tickets I would.

whatever, I'm going. I love the sport too much to not go and hockey live is amazing compared to on tv.

Playoffs are a different story.
Of course, your team will probably be in them... and mine... probably won't be an issue for me

I don't get this at all, particularly the timing.

Could they fire him during the lockout? I don't think it's that shocking, he didn't exactly do a very good job there. As one of the THN guys on twitter said, nobody over-promised and under-delivered more than Burke.

I pick up my tickets nest week I guess. I have to admit that this is the first season in a while that I think Vancouver doesn't have a chance. I think they lack the depth to get through the packed schedule, Kesler out for significant time, the Luongo issue not resolved. With no inter conference games I can't say I'm hyped for the season but I know once go to opening night I'll be sucked back in again.
Anyone ever get the NHL tv package? Is it worth getting?

That's true, but if he had just shut up right from the start and found the team in the exact same position, would that have made a difference? I don't know. When I look at the team, I see them in a better position (present and future) than they have been at any time since the 04-05 lockout and I feel like they're heading in the right direction for the first time in almost a decade. I think they should have given him this season to see where they really stand, since there's already enough uncertainty following the lockout.
I've also heard that maybe there was some disagreement regarding Luongo between Burke (who didn't want him) and ownership (who apparently does) that precipitated this, but I think it was just speculation.

if the Luongo rumor is true, I'm a very happy Canucks fan...

Ready for the season to start. Went to the Avs training camp the last few days and going again tomorrow, this team would look real good if they can get O'Reilly back under contract.
Plus, they gave me a bunch of free shit for sticking around as a season ticket holder.
