This is a different matter. As far as i remember they ignored the drummers changing altogether there.

It was the perfect opportunity for it, and it is pretty striking that a 20 year look back at this band sort of just skips over a decade and well-publicized personnel changes.

It's odd when you look back at some of the things they've done and not done. Hard to connect the logic behind many of the decisions.

The documentary was a classic example of "here's what we think you think we are." There was no insight, no surprise or attempt to change the story or anything. Just a case of "forget the creative journey altogether, and focus on romanticizing that one record you made because it sold a lot of copies."

Agreed. It made me think the band is made up of four rather bland and ordinary dudes and Ed, who isn't saying anything and who may just be a drunk.

True story: I tried fast-forwarding straight to Vitalogy and starting from there the only time I ever watched it, and sometime around 30 minutes in I started to realize that it was never really coming.

edit: a surprise club show here and there between arena shows would be fucking great though. no need to make it exlusive for anybody - no safety net.

Eh, I really don't care anymore anyway. 10 years ago, definitely. They could've done a fan club mini tour, then a full scale tour later. Not that unreasonable.

I was in the GA section in Charlotte, and I found everyone to be quite tolerable. Especially the girl who gave me booze to buy her way in front of me.

You really should watch the first 30. Crowe does a great job with telling the "rise from the ashes" story. Cornell makes it worth the time, too

He had arranged a nighttime shoot at an old, closed facility, brought in different wildlife, and set up his lights among the cages and in the trees. Along with the animal footage, the members of Pearl Jam were filmed individually and as a band, standing on the side of a cliff and air jamming. The shoot took hours, and the band was not pleased with the end result. Schenck's shoot was considered a waste of time and money by the band; it also damaged Abbruzzese's wrists significantly.
