Sunburn is so fucking good, I really can't stand it. And it gets better the more I listen to it.

Agreed. Of the earth is just too generic

Any post pearl jam song after Riot Act has people who will vote against it on principle.
Do you really believe that this is true? Could it not be that some people genuinely don't care for Pearl Jam's post-Riot Act output.

people may not necessarily love of the earth either. This is a pretty underwhelming matchup for me.

Of the Earth could be really great if trimmed up and executed a little differently. It has so much promise. The melody needs to move more, the lyrics need to - be something- and that end outro jam needs to be for-fucking-ever.
But, Sunburn is so goddamn lovely.

Plus I just don't like it very much when stone sings.
It's Stone singing.. I'm pretty sure it's "Oh him, Oh him"

I would love to hear a proper studio version of 'Of the earth'
The live version feels very incomplete to me.

me too. Sometimes songs like this get helped out by having the listener fill in the gaps, and imagining that they're awesome. I'm sure that's part of the appeal a song like P+G has for me.

Yet people still vote for it over Sunburn, a song that requires no imagination to make awesome.
