I was gonna bitch about using a cover but I might vote for Sonic Reducer or Fuckin Up against some originals.

LROM is probably a better song. But I just don't like voting for covers in these kinds of things. So Breakerfall it is.

LROM is ok... but i was never a huge fan of the who or this cover. breakerfall is just a better listening experience to me

I actually don't like The Who or their version of LROM, but like Stip said Eddie sounds awesome on the Pearl Jam version. I also much prefer Pearl Jam's version of Baba O'reilly.

I get preferring Baba to the Who's version; PJ, even if it's just due to lack of synthesizers onstage, make it their own. I guess, just speaking for me, I find it hard to understand how someone could dislike LROM by the Who and like PJ's version. It's practically a note-for-note cover.

LROM really has no place outside of the album its on. Its a ridiculous song and a weird choice for a cover.

At this point you should just be impressed that they haven't decided en mass to think of this as a "Pearl Jam song," or that they even bothered to investigate the fact that there was a different version in the first place.

I still expect a day to come where someone offers an altered version that skips past "all that boring piano," and everyone thanks them endlessly.

I'm surprised to see this much negativity about LROM. I thought it was pretty well received when it came out.

It was. I recall McParadigm really praising eddies performance in particular.
