Most of the inside job music is really good imo.
Voted for it, close though.

Could be. I really don't know. A kind soul sent it to me, which is the only reason I've heard it. But I really like it.
Yeah, it was the other song on the When The Fire Comes single.

The studio version doesn't appear to be on youtube. It's a Jeff song with Joseph Arthur on vocals. It's hard to watch this performance with Matt & Mike and not think this should have been a Pearl Jam song. It's probably my favorite PJ-related song of the last ten years.
(Granted, Mike kinda sucks here)

I don't care for his singing, but Jeff's writing prowess is very underrated.

Changed my vote to Inside Job after hearing the demo... There's nothing really different. All the elements of the song are there except the lead guitar... Different singer and a few undetermined lyrics. It's a fucking DEMO! This makes as much sense to me as voting for covers
BUT... It's not my game, I didn't make the rules, and I enjoy playing...
Carry on.

Oh please. That demo is way better than a finished Inside Job.

Inside Job gets shit on way more than it should. Yes, it is a bad song. But, that is a result of the lyrics and the production, not the song structure or the instrumental music. With the right treatment, and an improved vocal melody/lyrical approach, it could have been a very nice tune. I really do enjoy the intro music to this in a live setting when performed well (which is not often). I saw the first live performance of this (Toronto '06), and it was one of the more memorable moments of the night - Mike on the double neck guitar, the piano overlay, etc...
But, on the record as it turns out, it kinda is terrible.

I totally agree. Including demos in this is weird.

Absolutely, but I'm still gonna vote on the choices presented. I'm happy enough to make a subjective call on 2 tunes, regardless of their respective states of completion.
That said having demos included here isn't ideal, but like stip said, that's a factor if comp numbers more than anything else.

it's entirely to avoid byes. We have way more songs than the 128 tournament structure can absorb.
