The price of the vinyl edition of Superunknown has dropped to below $50 on Amazon (well, $49.99), which is cheaper than the official site, if you're interested.

I ordered it when it was at $55...luckily Amazon adjusts these things. With my credit card points, I'm not getting it for $40...which is probably still too expensive, but I'll forget about that when it's on the turntable.

Ditto. Would really rather they offer that as it's own item because that's all I really want out of this.

Thumbs up but doesn't make sense. This whole years drummer debacle just doesn't make sense (to me).

Yeah, it's still very weird to me too.
It'd surely make more sense for Chamberlain to cover Matt's Pearl Jam commitments, seeing as he actually was their drummer for a while. Cameron's playing is a much bigger part of Soundgarden's sound than it is Pearl Jam's too.
Quite bizarre.

I read somewhere that they're is a Soundgarden doco in the making and they are getting Matt back in on drums to play a few 'key' performances to film so as to include current footage.

I can't help but think that Soundgarden's year and their career is being affected. If Cameron was a permanent and committed member then you could assume that there would either be a Superunknown tour or a second reunion album release imminent scheduled for 2014. Instead there are a handful of shows plus a NIN tour that is essentially just treading water (like those PJ 2012 Euro shows).
The doco sonds interesting but
It's a little bit difficult because they're touring, but [SOUNDGARDEN drummer] Matt Cameron is not touring with them this summer because he's got PEARL JAM commitments," Harkema said. "There's some key shows that Matt Cameron is going to be playing, so we're going to be trying to send cameras out for that. But I think when they're coming through Toronto, we've definitely got it scheduled in to get some interviews in with them."

matt was has been the drummer for over half of pearl jam's studip output, and has been their drummer for 16 years now. Lets have a guy come in who was the drummer for a few weeks 23 years ago for one album they will play maybe 4-5 songs from in a 30+ song set?

it seems like he made it pretty clear he picked pearl jam. Aren't we better off having the original soundgarden lineup record albums together and just have them tour with a different drummer than not existing at all?

I don't think (or hope, at least) this represents any kind of long-term arrangement.
