Yeah when I was in a band someone said let's do Last Kiss looked at me and said you must know the words to that song. Um no.

I find almost every delivery of the line "Got some if you need it" to be excruciating. It's like he wanted to strut this line like a Mick Jagger chicken walk, but also fit the melody he was lifting, so...off we go.

The last one in each run, the "Nee-heee-heee-heeed et" sounds like someone is making fun of Eddie Vedder, and absolutely nailing it.

I got a gut feeling he's trying to sound like something very specific there.

I discovered that Devo song because of got some, so there's that at least.

I like got some quite a bit, but it's still a middling song on backspacer.

Last Kiss is a great song, guys.

Overplayed and saturated, yes, but a great song nonetheless. My mom had a copy of the original when she was like 12 for shit's sake. It's a timeless tune and PJ nails it.

And while Got Some is one of the top 1 or 2 tracks from Backspacer, that certainly doesn't mean it's a good song. It's like being the best piece of mold on your dog's shitpile in the yard.

The vulnerability in Last Kiss is on the forefront due to the way they recorded it. That is all but lost in recent PJ. Any such vulnerability is washed aside by horrible production.
