This one is pretty easy for me (MOTH) but I did go back and listen to All Night just now and it's also a pretty freakin' sweet ass song. Love the vocal experimentation on this.

That's what I meant about MotH being "more mature" above. A song about how you want to bone your wife is...still a song about wanting to bone someone. A song about coming to grips with age and death as you yourself age...that's something else. The song doesn't have to be over-dramatic to be heartfelt.

not that you were saying this, but neither future days nor sirens is a song about boning his wife. They're both Man of the Hour within a relationship, although MotH is clearly a more accomplished piece of writing. I guess Man of the Hour is about a mentor/parental relationship. Maybe that's easier to get inside of.

All Night is nothing special. I always get a little bored while it's still playing.
MotH has never really hit me either. I don't like the vocal melody chasing the guitar line. The bridge of MotH is something nice though so by a nose is MotH.

I mean, intentional fallacy and all that of course...but Ed is on record saying it's about wanting to have sex with his wife.

And he's not even
that subtle about it! I'm not in the Sirens Haters Fan Club, really (even though I'm not crazy about it), but I wouldn't lump it into that criticism.
