I looked at the bracket. A Night at the Opera didn't beat Led Zeppelin IV. It beat Van Halen I, The Wall, and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, before losing to Dark Side of the Moon.

Led Zeppelin IV shouldn't haven beaten Sticky Fingers to start with, so it's all bogus anyways.

Wow, all of these brackets are terrible.

You're right, Queen didn't beat Led Zep IV

But Elton John did.

So fuck that bracket.

And yes, Sticky Fingers should have been the victor in each of the matches regardless.

I would have never thought that Elton John fans were organized enough to win a match up like that. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road doesn't have the multi-generational reach Led Zeppelin IV does. That's crazy.

It was probably Elton John's new husband hitting f5 and re-clicking for 5 hours straight.

Wait, I just looked at the whole thing again closer...

Led Zeppelin I and Dark Side of the Moon both made the Final Four, but Led Zeppelin IV and The Wall both lost in round one? That blows my mind.

Also, if I ever met anyone who told me his favorite albums from each of the decades in question were Led Zeppelin I, Dark Side of the Moon, Escape, and Ten, I would walk away from the conversation immediately.

Out of curiosity though, what would some of your Final Fours of personal favorites be if you had to have one from each decade like this tournament?

Without thinking too long and hard, I think mine would be The Holy Bible (Manic Street Preachers) from the 90s, Nebraska (Bruce Springsteen) from the 80s (although Sign "O" the Times by Prince and The Queen is Dead by the Smiths could've just as easily been my choices), Nevermind the bollocks here's the SEX PISTOLS from the 70s, and Stand! (Sly & the Family Stone) from the 60s. For what it's worth XTRMNTR (Primal Scream) would be my pick from the 00s.

To be fair, I'm sure many people would walk away from a conversation with me immediately after hearing me list those as well.

I'm not sure about the 60s
70s off hand is probably zeppelin IV
80s is life's rich parent
90s is vitalogy
00s is probably bubblegum by mark lanegan or blood money by tom waits

Just thinking about reducing an entire decade of music to one single album makes me want to take a shower.

Take a shower, you mean?

Having to pick 4 favorites and only one from each decade kinda seems like doing exactly that.

Yes a great album maybe the most forgotten "great" album of it's era. Harvest is also like this when we think of the great albums of the 70's Harvest is hardly mentioned.
