I'm not really sure where the "free" part of this came in. The organizers have had surprise bookings before from what I understand. I am sure they would be paid if they were to show.

It's likely just a rumor that won't pan out, but it would be pretty amazing if they did show up unannounced.

Considering what Pearl Jam's appearance fee is, there is no way an organizer is "sitting on them" as a last second surprise.

You know what I'd like to see, a release of the songs that were recorded over multiple sessions. So the early versions of brain of j, of the girl, parting ways, pendulum, and whatever else qualifies

If Pearl Jam is allegedly so greedy, wouldn't it produce more records...like one every year?

Using Mike quotes as evidence they were intentionally writing songs to be radio hits = perfectly reliable.

Yeah, I imagine Mike as the kid in elementary who is always wanting to be in the cool group, and they convince him to do stupid shit just bc they can.
