I love pretty much all of The Whole Love. It's a huge improvement over the rest of the post YHF work.
See, that's the thing. Is the Whole Love good standing on it's own, or does it only seem good compared to the previous 2 turds when in reality it's pretty mediocre?

And I still absolutely adore A Ghost Is Born.
I got into Wilco later than everyone else. When I was going through all the classic albums, The Whole Love had just come out. So i didn't have the years of mediocrity to stew over while waiting for The Whole Love.

I think it's the best thing they've done since YHF, is consistently solid, and it's highs are right there with the top marks of their catalog.
Chud is like Stip on Pearl Jam when it comes to Wilco
No, stip would say Foxtrot was this weird disjointed period that he's so thankful they grew out of and have been getting consistently better since.

Then you're both wrong if you think that Whole Love even touches AGIB.....hell Sky Blue Sky has it beat and that record only has a handful of good songs.

AGIB is alright. I didn't like much of Sky Blue Sky or Wilco at all.

The Whole Love isn't as a good as AGIB, but that's no knock against it. I think anyone saying that TWL is a Backspacer-sized crater in Wilco's catalog is way off. It's a really good record.

Flowering. Once again... liking this. Tweedy isn't lost in all the mud that is modern Wilco.

Easily the best thing Tweedy has done since Sky Blue Sky. We finally get to hear the bones of his songs without the bloated apparatus that is modern day Wilco drowning out and obscuring what made Wilco work in the first place...... Tweedy's simplistic yet unique songwriting.

I'm hesitant to listen to this album. Although from all reports it sounds like I will like it. I miss AM/BT/ST wilco
