There is (potentially) nothing I hate more than the annual wave of junk mail, road signs, and TV ads surrounding local elections.

Most of the ads I'm seeing are for New Hampshire races, which is somehow more infuriating.

Georgia's electing a governor & a senator today. It's a very red state but the sitting Republican governor is expected to win a narrow re-election and there's a good chance the senate race will be thrown into a run-off. Like elsewhere the GOP has done a good job of pandering to the base while ignoring the changing demographics.

i just felt a twinge of wistfulness reading this, while knowing that there's nary a littlewing, broken iris, or thodoks in sight to undermine the sentiment

Ugh, I've been guilted into driving up to MA to vote today. I wish I had done an absentee ballot.

Still beats declaring residency in Rhode Island.

This is 2014. Give me an app that lets me cast my vote.
