who else will be eligible that year?Biff Pocoroba wrote:I thought eligibility starts 25 years after the first album release. I'm not so sure they're a lock for the first time ballot. They probably will, just not a complete shock if they don't.

I'm not sure they always defer to the artist's wishes; the RRHoF didn't include Chad Channing when Nirvana were inducted even though he seems on great terms with everyone and they seemingly wanted him to be.CopperTom wrote:Think of it this way, all members of Pearl Jam will attend the ceremony if which drummer(s) are inducted? Some members (Eddie) of Pearl Jam would skip the ceremony if which drummer is inducted?Bammer wrote:If Dave A. isn't there, I might have to quit my PJ fanhood. I hope it doesn't come to that.
Outside of Dave A. (potentially), I could see the band wanting to include all former drummers... No?
It's a real no brainer from a RRHoF business perspective. You won't anger your golden goose for the evening.

Channing said he heard the news via a text message sent to Nirvana's management: "Can you tell whoever looks after Chad Channing that he isn’t being inducted… It is just Dave, Krist and Kurt."

I can't see Dave A or even Dave K being left out. I can easily see Dave K going the way of Chad Channing; he was already out of the band by the time they really found success.LetMeSleep wrote:I can't see Dave A or even Dave K being left out. Cliff Martinez and Jack Irons were inducted with RHCP recently however, so who knows.

You should probably look at the people who participated in all the anniversary hoopla, and assume it'll be one of them.

Chris Cornell would be nice. He has lots of history with the band. They'd probably love Neil Young, though I'm not a fan of when an older generation artist inducts a younger artist.

I have it on good authority that based on the strength of chud's best man speech last weekend, he will be inducting Pearl Jam into the RRHOF.
