I'd say after the first listen I immediately knew I wanted to listen to it again. I didn't really "get it" that first time, but I knew to keep at it. Pretty soon it was one of my all-time favorites.
Another one that comes to mind is "The Downward Spiral." I thought it was
a total waste of time. Then "Ruiner" started sounding pretty good to me and I listened to it constantly for weeks. It's an album I probably haven't listened to in ten years though; I can barely remember it.

I thought Worlds Apart by ...Trail of Dead was okay when it dropped, but I revisited it ~5 years later and was blown away.

Hated Kid A when it came out, hated it with passion. Couldnt believe the same guys from Ok Computer were making that.

For me it was the other way around. I thought "Odelay" was lame, and I wasn't expecting much with "Mutations", especially since it was so downplayed in the media. I loved it and it's still my favorite Beck album to this day. He lost me again with Midnight Vultures, which was touted in the press as the "proper" follow-up to "Odelay". What a load of shit.
Mutations is my favorite Beck album too. What an incredible collection of songs.

"The Sounds Are Always Begging" is in the running for my favorite BPB song. I need to listen to this album again soon!

I was a rocking kind of guy as a kid and all the bleep blops were not my thang. It changed very quickly though and of course i love it now. But it was such a huge disappointment to me back then.

The one Radiohead album I came close to hating was TKOL, but I love it now.
