I'm at 1:20 going crazy for a few seconds with my arms up looking like I just saw Jesus Christ.
Hi Jorge.
Holy shit, that's really you!
Are you still in San Diego?
All us RM high rollers should get together one day and disparage these plebs we're surrounded with.
IN
hey matt

Hi Doug. Hi Skitch (sadly cannot remember first name but I of course remember you). Hi Jorge.
Yah that's me. lololol. I'm still in SD. If any of you make it here let me know and I'd be glad to meet up. Well, some of you.

I'm realy liking his 'Glass Houses' album. "You May Be Right" is a fantastic song.
I don't even know what prompted my Billy Joel kick, I guess in general I've been going back to the 70's and 80's for some tunes. Most of the bands I know and have grown up with, but I never really listened to outside of their Greatest Hits packages, or what I saw on MTV back in the day.

P.S. Sadly, Jeff Tweedy didn't do a living room show last year.

Going through the discography this morning.
Cold Spring Harbor: I thought this was a total snoozer. Lounge piano music of the most lightweight and forgettable kind. “She’s Got a Way” is okay.
Piano Man: Another dud. The title track is great, of course, but it’s not really representative of the album, which is all over the place sonically. Why does it open with a bluegrass song? And the western-themed “The Ballad of Billy the Kid” is DEEPLY unconvincing.
Streetlife Serenade: Now this is more like it. Not perfect front-to-back, but I like it a lot. “Streetlife Serenader” is amazing amazing amazing, I love it so much. Other early favorites are “Los Angelenos” and “The Mexican Connection”.
Turnstiles: Seems pretty uneventful? I’ve heard several of the songs many times and those ones are all right. It’s not connecting with me much outside of that.

One of my favorite things in all of music is that, after dispassionately listing some of the most consequential social and societal upheavals of the 20th century, Billy Joel finally loses his shit and flips a fucking table over cola wars.
