Uh. David Letterman is and has always been the best there ever was. Of course I liked Craig Kilborn, too. ferguson, leno, and fallon are intolerable, and conan used to be ok but seems to have deteriorated. that or I just grew out of it.

Uh. David Letterman is and has always been the best there ever was. Of course I liked Craig Kilborn, too.

For example, often when referencing the weather during his monologue, Craig would ask his sidekick, "How hot is it, Geoff?" to which Geoff would respond, "It is so hot." without even adding a punchline (versus the multiple, ultra-lame weather-related punchlines I saw in Letterman's monologue just last night).

Anyway, it's cool that you are getting something else out of it.

Yeah, but...the "not trying"/"not caring" thing is essential to the whole concept of the show. It's a huge part of what made it so funny, in my opinion.

don't know much about auckerman but he seems ok

Loved the "it is so hot!" gag.

Ferguson was still having fun. It's a shame the show ended now because his interactions with JRT as Geoffrey were really hitting stride the last year or two.

Letterman has been such a lazy old fart for years now. Just phoning it in. Cbs should have canned him years ago.
