This is kind of where I am too. But I recently bought the fancy Blu-ray with all the different cuts because I really want to love this movie.

Isn't the directors cut supposed to be way better than the theatrical cut?

I'm honestly not sure which version I've seen.

i've seen the one with the deckard voiceovers which an internet search has confirmed was the US theatrical release...apparently there's like 7 versions out there, i thought it was only 3

The Final Cut is the best version.

Hey LV, this thread might be more successful than my War Movies thread, huh?

I kinda miss how the future was portrayed in 80's movies. These days the future is always so sleek and stylish. I miss the grimy future where there were steam pipes everywhere and everything was really ominous.

I'm definitely with you on this. The future in Aliens is much cooler cinematically than the future in movies now.

Road Warrior is easily best.

Six-String Samurai
Idiocracy
Beyond Thunderdome
Blade Runner
The Road
Children of Men
Twelve Monkeys

Just watched this upon your advice.
Spoiler: show
Despite the many plot-holes and improbabilities, I quite enjoyed most of it. I found myself really rooting for Eva, mostly because almost every one else is a titanic asshole, while the two proper bad guys were absolute pigs. Some scenes were genuinely painful to watch. I wouldn't recommend it neither rank it along other great post-apocalyptic films but it surely reaches for the gut.

The Divide is fascinating, though not entirely successful. Certainly a bold and admirable effort. Michael Biehn is really awesome. I'm a Biehny baby.
