I use Netflix streaming for television shows and have been using either Redbox or Half Price Books for actual movie viewing. Obviously, this is not an ideal situation if I want to watch better movies with more frequency. I prefer not to stream movies on my laptop because my laptop is very small, the speakers aren't very good, and the internet connection is less than ideal.

In short, I'm the prime target market for the Netflix DVD membership, which I think I'm going to go with starting today.

A lot of interesting new movies up on Netflix recently. I plan to watch Frances Ha, Only God Forgives, and This is Not a Film. That's always exciting.

I love Netflix Instant. LOVE it. It's weird that there are people that don't.

Between Netflix Instant, Hulu Plus, and HBOGo, I've almost entirely stopped watching DVDs. That may not be a good thing (nearly everyhing worthwhile was released on DVD and is thus commercially available. These streaming services have an extensive collection for sure, but it is by no means exhaustive. I'm a little worried that some movies will be lost and forgotten if DVDs disappear. Plus, of course, limiting all my movie choices to those movies available through just three companies is worrisome by itself). But HD streaming looks better than DVDs usually, so that's one thing.

Are you guys aware of the Chrome and Firefox browser Extension called Hola? It lets you browse Netflix (or any site) via proxies in other countries. Basically, you get their library. Sweden has movies like TDKR, The Hobbit and quite a few other blockbusters. Canada has a lot of Pixar movies.

Yea. I just don't understand this either. Just had a conversation with a friend who cancelled Netflix because "there are never any new movies."

Umm, there's hundreds of new movies. One must just be open minded at times.

That's where Seinfeld's comedians in cars getting coffee started. But it's on Netflix now so don't bother.
