I really don't want to spoil anything for anyone so I'll tag this for you, tommy.
Spoiler: show
Not really, no. Durst has always maintained his innocence. The only "murder" he's admitted to was his neighbor in Texas. He was tried and acquitted on the basis of self-defense. The prosecution really dropped the ball and got out played by Durst's multi-million dollar defense team.

Throughout the documentary Durst gives his version of events in all cases and tries to defend himself against some tough questions. However, the filmmakers continue to dig into the events. Part of the doc is about Durst's life and childhood. Part of it is present day interviews and part is investigation. Very much like Serial.

Some new evidence comes to light during the series. And Jarecki & Co try to sit down with Durst again (the original interviews took place in 2010/2011) a couple years later to question him about the new evidence.

The final episode was a bombshell. It was one of the best series endings I've ever seen. It shook me. Of course, news is news and spoilers are hard to escape on the internet. So someone watching all of this tomorrow, for the first time, might not feel what I felt.

But I highly recommend watching it. It was disturbing, unsettling, informative, heartbreaking, and overall some of the most riveting television I've seen.

I'm just as disappointed as you that no one around here wants to talk about this. But what are you gonna do? It is Pearl jam March Madness time after all.

Really great article about The Jinx and Serial and this boom in true-crime genre storytelling, and most importantly about audience expectations.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) – A Louisiana State Police trooper says millionaire Robert Durst has been booked on weapons charges in that state – on top of a first-degree murder charge lodged by Los Angeles authorities. Trooper Melissa Matey told the Associated Press that an arrest warrant was issued for the former Limp Bizkit frontman and he was rebooked in the Orleans Parish Jail on Monday under two new charges.

AP Issues Correction Acknowledging Robert Durst Was Not In Limp Bizkit

On Saturday, Robert Durst — millionaire real estate heir, subject of HBO’s true crime miniseries The Jinx, and alleged murderer — was arrested in New Orleans. Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst, no relation, remains at large. The Associated Press, however, isn’t so sure about that. According to a report that went out Monday evening over a California broadcast wire:
A Louisiana State Police trooper says millionaire Robert Durst has been booked on weapons charges in that state — on top of a first-degree murder charge lodged by Los Angeles authorities. Trooper Melissa Matey told the Associated Press that an arrest warrant was issued for the former Limp Bizkit frontman and he was rebooked in the Orleans Parish Jail on Monday under two new charges.
After media blogger Jim Romenesko pointed out their mistake, the AP issued a classic correction statement:
In the second item of the California 10th NewsMinute sent March 16 to users of the state broadcast wire, The Associated Press reported erroneously that Robert Durst is a member of a band. He is a real estate heir; Fred Durst is the former frontman of Limp Bizkit.
Sadly, they still got it wrong — Fred Durst is still the frontman of Limp Bizkit. But yes, whatever crimes against music and/or good taste one might accuse him of, Fred Durst is definitely not a murderer.
