Less touring, more music. Or, lay some tracks down while touring. Better yet, debut some songs you've been working on. Even better, lock Eddie up in the hotel room, and let Jeff/Stone write the new PJ album. Dubbed Ed's voice over music. Release to Target or whatever.
when was the last time they debuted a song live that ended up on an album? gone?

Didn't "Future Days" and "Lightning Bolt" both premiere prior to the album coming out? I mean, we can assume the album was done at that point, so it's not like they were "trying out" new material, but they were played pre-release.
"Supersonic" and "The End" were also played live a few weeks before "Backspacer" came out.

Well, as jaded as you all are, the South America tour in 2011 was legitimately excellent. I don't think I'd want to see a stadium show like that, but some of those boots are excellent, like Rio, Porto Alegre and Lima.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to hearing the shows in due course.

I thought there was a noticeable difference in the way Matt was playing. A lot more aggression and precision. I felt at the time that his playing benefitted greatly from the SG reunion.

if i remember correctly, both of those were essentially "out" already though. the fixer single was out at that point, and ed had played "the end" at his solo shows previously.

Had Ed played it solo?
The End debuted at SheBu 11/08/09 and the Supersonic at O2 18/08/09. I think BS was released around the 22nd. Or maybe it leaked then.

supersonic was the b-side for the fixer single (what a combo!), which was released earlier that summer.
and yes, eddie played "the end" a few times earlier in that year at his solo shows. "speed of sound" too.

Wiki has The Fixer single release date as Aug 24, 2009. Maybe 10C sent out copies earlier, I don't know
And BS was Sept 20.

Well Fixer was on the radio in July that year.

Right. And I could've sworn that Supersonic was out before they played it.. Maybe 10c released it a few days early? Or maybe it just leaked.. But I'm pretty sure it was out in some form before they played it.

Supersonic debut was, i think, in London 09. That was before the release of Backspacker right?

Aren't most of these Latin shows typically greatest hits-type shows? I doubt they debut a new tune, but one can hope.

I recentlly went back and listened to this tour as I wanted to do some more work on my mix which continues to grow. After 11/6/11,pretty good shows. Wish Mexico survived the soundboard being pissed on.
