Love both songs
But Faithfull.
But Faithfull.
Weird, b/c I think he royally fucks Faithfull up by not letting the cymbals ring during the "echoes" part. He goes to the high-hat, which neuters the song, where as Jack let the cymbals ring. Huge difference and Matt's way is completely wrong.beat wrote:I read in an interview with Matt that his favorite song to play during the 1998 tour was Faithful. I can't remember why, I think he said he just liked it.
I really, really wish there more good recordings of Jack playing Yield tunes live... It really was the album where he fully cemented with the sound of the band and they all played to his strengths and vice versa.darth_vedder wrote:Weird, b/c I think he royally fucks Faithfull up by not letting the cymbals ring during the "echoes" part. that classic "i don't know why--just because" attitude is how we ended up with things like evacuation and get rightbeat wrote:I read in an interview with Matt that his favorite song to play during the 1998 tour was Faithful. I can't remember why, I think he said he just liked it.
Aside from his drumming, which fits perfectly with the band, I liked the oddness he brought. Stuff like Hummus, Whale Song, and Happy When I'm Crying don't get made with MC. It's like when Jack left the weird in PJ left too.hlniv wrote:I really, really wish there more good recordings of Jack playing Yield tunes live... Golly, I wish they'd adopt that attitude more often in that case.Alex wrote:that classic "i don't know why--just because" attitude is how we ended up with things like evacuation and get rightbeat wrote:I read in an interview with Matt that his favorite song to play during the 1998 tour was Faithful.
