I've seen them about 25 times since 96 and even my sub par experiences were a lot of fun.Bammer wrote:There are very few things I would rather do than see Pearl Jam live.
Yep, as much as I bitch about the quality of their most recent albums, I had a blast when I saw them last year and will definitely see them again.stip wrote:I've seen them about 25 times since 96 and even my sub par experiences were a lot of fun.Bammer wrote:There are very few things I would rather do than see Pearl Jam live.
I feel like the professionalism was up in 2014 but the sound system was down.Wendy Carlos's Twin wrote:Between their pussy sound system and their lack of professionalism
Back in 2000 I was able to see nine shows and I think I was making $6.00/hr and saving up to move out of my parents' house. Now I have a hard time justifying seeing them more than once in a year. The last time I saw them more than twice in a year was 2006. It's really not for lack of interest, but it's just too expensive.Wendy Carlos's Twin wrote:aren't justified by the size of the venues they play or their ticket prices
Somehow I've still managed to meet some really cool people at just about every PJ show I go to, and usually have a good experience. But when you're around the bad ones, they are the absolute worst I've encountered anywhere.Wendy Carlos's Twin wrote:the antics of their bonehead jock fanbase
Philly/New York - tons of bros.stip wrote:What, besides singing along to Sirens and one guy picking a fight with lament, are the antics of the jock fan base? I've been to a lot of shows and never had or really seen any issues. Is this an RM thing, or an actual thing.

Two bros at a PJ show is kinda funny and charming. Once you get to four or more in a group is when you have issues.Wendy Carlos's Twin wrote:Philly/New York - tons of bros.stip wrote:What, besides singing along to Sirens and one guy picking a fight with lament, are the antics of the jock fan base? Those are the shows I go to. And I've never seen obnoxious bro behaviorWendy Carlos's Twin wrote:Philly/New York - tons of bros.stip wrote:What, besides singing along to Sirens and one guy picking a fight with lament, are the antics of the jock fan base? I suppose it varies a lot based on location but I've only ever had issues with the nutty "OMG EDDIE"/"PEARL JAM IS MY RELIGION" fans at shows.stip wrote:What, besides singing along to Sirens and one guy picking a fight with lament, are the antics of the jock fan base? I hope that they tour near me again (northeast PA)B wrote:Because they won't tour near you, or because you choose not to go to the concert?

Boston definitely has both of these awful types of people at their Pearl Jam shows.Birds in Hell wrote:I suppose it varies a lot based on location but I've only ever had issues with the nutty "OMG EDDIE"/"PEARL JAM IS MY RELIGION" fans at shows.stip wrote:What, besides singing along to Sirens and one guy picking a fight with lament, are the antics of the jock fan base? I think the uncomplicated brawnish enthusiasm of bros would be a welcome respite to people getting misty-eyed over Eddie's every mumble but perhaps I'd change my tune if you stuck me in a show in the middle of New Jersey.
