Mark Lanegan: Houston (ipecac August 15)

Other than Pearl Jam, who else is there?

I'm two and a half listens in, so it's early to make sweeping comments. But there are some nice, minor songs in here. It would have been a little disappointing as a full fledged album, especially sandwiched between Field Song and Bubblegum (which I think is high water mark), but as an album of demos and simple songs without a lot at stake it's a pleasant listen. I was already a fan of Halcyon Days and When It's In You is excellent.

i also give it two listens and i love it. Love the feel, Lanegans vocals of course, Johnson's feedback...pretty awesome material. I understand some of this songs are a little short, but they are demos....which makes the whole album more great.

And yeah, next album could use a little of Mike again.

This is what I expected when I bought the Weird Chill EP. I was thrown by that one at the time. I wanted more 90's solo Lanegan and this sure fits the bill. Very good.

Finally listening to it.
Love it, what a lovely bunch of songs so far.

Hard to tell on first listen, but I might actually like When it's in you even more than Meth Blues.
High Life kind of reminds me of One Way Street

Same here, fucking terrific track, especially Mike Johnson's guitar work
