Binaural. it sounded forced and tired. i've had a semi-pi obsession lately of reconfiguring binaural with others songs from those sessions...of course, Sad, Fatal, Driftin' (band version). i can't understand why these songs never saw the light of day--they've proved their stay power as years have passed... all the in-fighting, maybe? btw, Thunderclap should've been the opener--"Is it nap time yet, heheheheh" ;)

Yeah, I've always found it strange how we talk about these songs like they're these hidden b-sides lost to time. They're not some Neil Young track hidden in the vaults that you hear vague murmurings about for decades. It was three years at most between Binaural and hearing them on Lost Dogs.

They were leaked as 96kbps MP3s long before the release of Lost Dogs too, if I'm not mistaken.

You are not mistaken. The whole reason I ever joined RM was because I was looking for those shitty leaks.

I listened to those shitty leaks so much. I didn't know to worry about things like bitrates back then, all I knew is that they were three awesome songs.

Yerp.

And I'm still here all these years later. So they were like REALLY good songs.

I kinda miss those old treasure hunt days. Where you couldn't get picky about bitrates and whatnot. You just took what you could get and the shitty quality didn't matter as much.

I do too. I also miss the days of bootleg CDs. I had a Friday morning record store ritual to go check out what "imports" came in that week!

I was always so dubious of those things, but man I always ended up buying them. There was a decade there were I'd buy anything that had Pearl Jam on it.

I don't miss paying for them, but the hunt was always fun.

All my bootlegs got stolen out of my car a while ago. This was right before shows appeared on the internet and you could get anything you want.

I was absolutely crushed.

A couple years ago I downloaded a copy of Chapters for nostalgia purposes. I'll still listen to it from time to time.

My least favorite album...

Vs. or S/T

Maybe I need more angst and anger in my life to fully appreciate them.

I'll always have a soft spot for Vs., but it, along with LB and BS are the albums I listen to least. I'm not comparing in any way, just noting that those are the 3 albums I listen to least.

There are some stellar songs on Vs. but Leash, Blood, Dissident, and Glorified G are all mediocre at best to me.

I've never been a big fan of Leash or Dissident either. I like Blood and GG though. WMA is grossly underrated. I actually love the 2008 live versions, and Matt's drumming.
