I instantly loved Ghost. It's such a cool song and the watery vibe with the chorus is really cool. Matt also does some really nice fills in that part.durdencommatyler wrote:Gods' Dice is the biggest one for me.
Also, Ghost. That was easily my least favorite song on RA for a while. I'm not sure what made that click for me or when.

I think, for me, it was largely the lyrics. Especially pinned between Cropduster and I Am Mine, both of which I adore no end. Once I stopped caring about the lyrics or became familiar enough with them to stop listening, I started to like it a lot more. Then once I liked everything else about the song, I kinda liked the lyrics. Basically, I've done a 180 on that guy.darth_vedder wrote:I instantly loved Ghost. Lots of songs on Riot Act are kind of forgettable upon the first few listens but then you really grow to appreciate them. Ghost, Cropduster, Get Right, Green Disease, You Are all have some really cool things going on.durdencommatyler wrote:I think, for me, it was largely the lyrics. For my dollar, Riot Act is still the best sounding Pearl Jam album. I love the way it sounds and the way it feels. It flies by for me. I can understand the criticism, for sure. But I also don't know what I'd cut from it. Or what I'd change. I've tried to make a shorter version but it is very tough. I think I ended up cutting LBC and Get Right.durdencommatyler wrote:It flies by for me. I can understand the criticism, for sure. Woof. I'd have a really hard time cutting LBC. That's one of those linchpin songs, I think. The whole album is sewn with that thread. Get Right is a ton of fun. But I could see cutting it. Maybe Arc, too? Though that doesn't really save that much time.Monkey_Driven wrote:I've tried to make a shorter version but it is very tough. I think I ended up cutting LBC and Get Right.

As wonky as the second verse is, I LOVE the music and the chorus too much.Strat wrote:Riot Act is just great the way it is, guys.

And, yeah, it's just great great GREAT as it is. I don't wanna change a thing about it. I don't even want to add Down or Undone or anything.
