It's always a mistake to feature the lyrics in the video.

And with the members of Eleven writing his music.

Maybe more listens will reveal some further depths, but I'd say this sums up my feelings too.

Yes, there's definitely this modern country-esque sheen to Brendan's more recent production work that I struggle to listen past.

wow that was terrible

started out kind of 'ok, ok where is this going' and then where it went was like something produced by the disney channel

i'd say i was disappointed but i've come to generally expect crap from cornell solo

any idea of who the backing band is? that one-wammy-note guitar solo was pretty awesome (not). is this backed by a casio keyboard? (BOB) where do they expect this to be played? background music of pizza huts?

his solo acoustic stuff is generally anywhere from decent to excellent, however

i'd be curious to hear what the solo acoustic / demo of this lead track sounded like before it got studioed/BOB-ed

might be interesting if perfomed without the pizazz ...

Seems to be the new trend in cheap videos. I don't get it either, but it looks like someone has been watching Game of Thrones.

Haven't listened to it yet, LMS. Cornell sans SG is a pretty questionable proposition these days.

Waiting for the album? Are you seeing both Brisbane shows?

True. If you take something like Bones of birds over this, you realize how important the band is with his music.

It's probably no coincidence that he emerged from Soundgarden's first go-round with what is arguably his creative masterpiece as a songwriter, yet emerged from Audioslave with multiple albums of middle-of-the-road tripe. (Though I suppose by that logic he'd be back on Soundgarden time now -- so either the rest of the album will exceed expectations, or total creative disengagement has taken over rendering all aforementioned connections moot.)

I think I'm going to listen to "Ultramega OK" today.

I think the coincidence was he was young and dedicated to his craft back then. Older songwriters with better things to do are gonna be pretty hit or miss. Mostly miss.

Well my theory with him is that he needs creative partners to push him to write great music. I dont think, lets say, Steve Lillywhite push him , or Timbaland or the Audioslave guys. Thayil said it best, ¨not every Chris song is SG worthy´.

Yeah, i agree.

Still, there are some very good songs in Audioslave and even in Scream.
