The Western power grid is pretty sketchy and I live about an hour away from the largest nuclear power plant in the U.S., which was put on Category 4 alert a couple of years ago.

Also, I don't think it's woo to think we are due for mass extinction or that we are actually in the midst of a mass extinction. Biologist have been warning about this shit for years.

I grew up within the evacuation zone of Three Mile Island. We had to get out in 79 during the near meltdown. I still have an old container of potassium iodine pills they handed out back then. That thing could be worth some money but also handy during the end of times.

After experiencing Katrina, nothing would surprise me. Americans seem naive about what can happen here, especially in cities. But ultimately, anything more than some extra supplies and a plan is overkill, unless you got money to burn.
