"Comatose" is probably the best PRAMG song. Which means it still doesn't have a shot against a Binaural track.

"Comatose" is the only bad song from S/T.

Comatose used to be one of my least favorite PJ tunes. There are actually a few live versions I've heard that somewhat redeem it.

But Grievance is just fucking great. period.

Grievance, and it's not close. Although, I change my mind about Comatose. Sometimes I kinda like it, and sometimes I don't.

Crazy Mary is pretty good (especially many live versions), Comatose kicks ass and gets a lot of undeserved hate, but Grievance is an absolute beast/monster/titan/critter/varmint.

Grievance is very, very good but the studio version is too stilted, too contained.

I'm voting for Comatose. Stone and Mike's big, ringing Young brother-esque chords at the beginning of the song really hit the goddamn spot.

"Grievance" without hesitation. I agree that the studio version is a bit stilted but it's been done right so many times since that that hardly seems like a strike against it. "Comatose" is fine, but not in the upper echelon of PJ rockers.

This is spot on for me. Comatose is a sometimes song for me.

And let's not forget the Letterman performance. Which is probably still the best they ever were on that show.

What we've learned in this thread: you either love Comatose or you hate it.

Which really says something about the song. I have to give it that.

I'm in the middle. I like the music, and the interplay between Stone and Mike. In general, S/T is a really nice guitar rock album, and the band is playing really well. As is all too common in the PRAMG era, Ed is the song killer for me. Sounds like he's trying to squeeze a turd out.

Love the way Ed sounds on most of S/T. No turds.
